How these roofing prices were estimated

Base prices

We collected typical residential service-call pricing from across the US for roofing work. Each service has a base price that represents the median charge in a suburban, mid-cost market for an established business.

Materials vs. labor split

Each service breaks down into materials and labor. The split varies by job — a capacitor replacement is mostly materials, while drain cleaning is almost entirely labor. Knowing your split helps you spot where to improve margins.

Market adjustments

The pricing calculator applies a market multiplier: rural (0.85x), suburban (1.0x), urban (1.25x), and major metro (1.55x). These reflect differences in cost of living, competition density, and customer willingness to pay.

Experience adjustments

New businesses (0.85x) typically charge less while building reputation. Established businesses (1.0x) charge market rate. Premium businesses (1.4x) have strong reviews, specialized expertise, or serve high-end markets.

The pricing calculator includes 10 roofing services with price ranges, estimated hours, and materials percentages.

Roofing pricing & quoting FAQ

What is a roofing pricebook?

A pricebook is a list of standard services with set prices that a roofer uses to keep pricing consistent. Instead of pricing each job from scratch, you look up the service in your pricebook and apply market adjustments. Download the roofing pricebook CSV above to get started.

How do I create a roofing price list?

Start with our roofing pricebook template (download above as CSV). Review each service and adjust the suggested price for your market, labor rate, and material costs. Import it into Google Sheets, Excel, or your field-service software. Update it at least once a year as material and labor costs change.

Are these roofing prices realistic for 2026?

The suggested prices are based on typical US residential rates as of early 2026. Material costs and labor rates vary by region — use the suggested price as a baseline and adjust upward for high-cost areas or if your material suppliers have raised prices. The notes column flags items where pricing is per-unit (sq ft, linear ft, etc.).

Can I import this roofing pricebook into ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, or Jobber?

The CSV format (Service, Category, Description, Estimated Hours, Materials Cost, Labor Cost, Suggested Price, Notes) is compatible with most field-service software that supports CSV import. Check your software's import documentation for field mapping. You may need to rename columns to match their required format.
